Austin Smith.  Born in Dover, Delaware in 1993. My father served in the Air Force for 22 years, and as an Air Force brat, I’ve had the good fortune to have seen a good portion of the United Sates, and been exposed to lots of different cultural backgrounds.

From Dover, we were stationed in Altus, Oklahoma.  During this time period it became evident that athletics would not be for me.  Fortunately, an off chance purchase of an acoustic guitar at a pawn shop when I was 8, was the beginning of my musical life.

Our next move was to Vacaville, California.  I started taking guitar lessons when I was about 12. Playing came very easy and naturally to me, and it took hold of my life.  From that point on, I did almost nothing but play guitar. In high school, I joined the jazz band and started a punk band with some friends.  I was chosen to play the accompaniment for the Fleetwood Mac song,Landslide at my graduation ceremony.

After graduation, I have had the extreme good fortune to move to Hollywood and attend school at Musician's Institute.

In 18 short months I absorbed as much knowledge and experience at MI as I possibly could.  I now look forward to continuing to learn and grow in a career and an industry that will feed my passion for music.

I am currently attedning classes at UCLA's Film Scoring Extension program.
